Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, Catholic House will not be open for guests during 2020, All 2020 Lottery winners have been contacted and invited to carry over their reservations to the 2021 Chautauqua Season. The lottery for a limited number of spaces will begin on October 1, 2020

October 1 and November 15 

About Catholic House:

Catholic House offers an adults-only (18+) environment with six guest rooms, each with private bath and

air conditioning. Each guest room has two single beds, a tray table, chair, vanity and wardrobe. Bedding

and a set of towel are provided. The Community Room is designed for light cooking only, with a dorm-size refrigerator and storage cabinet for each guest room. Appliances such as a stove, microwave,toaster, ice machine, and coffee maker are included, as well as tableware and cooking utensils. In addition to the stairs,

all floors are serviced by an elevator, accessible via an exterior grade entrance


Guest Guidelines:

Rentals are limited to one-week with check-in time from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday,

and check-out time the following Saturday by 9:30 a.m. One or two persons may occupy a room. No guests substitutions are permitted. For health reasons, pets are not permitted at Catholic House. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted in the public areas. The use of tobacco of any kind is not permitted on the premises.  There are no televisions or telephones in guest rooms. There is a television in the Community Room

and a telephone with an answering machine in the office where guests may receive incoming calls.


Applying for a Room:

Because of the growing demand for the limited accommodations available at Catholic House the

Chautauqua Catholic Community has established a "lottery system" to assure equitable opportunities for

room arrangements.

The rate for all rooms is $550 per week. This is a room fee only and does not include a weekly gate pass to the Chautauqua Institution, parking fees or food.


To Enter the Catholic House Lottery:

Option 1:

Fill out the form that is part of the brochure available at the Catholic House and mail it to Chautauqua Catholic Community PO Box 106, Chautauqua, NY 14722. No deposit require but your mailed form must be post-marked between October 1 and November 15.

Option 2:

Complete the form on our website, located on the button above and submit it between October 1st and November 15th.


You will be notified by January 1, if you have won the lottery, and which week you will be able to reside at the Catholic House. If you are not successful, you will be placed on a waiting list and contacted should an opening arise.

All notifications will be by email. If you do not have an email address, please try to get a friend or relative to give you their email so we can communicate quickly and directly.

Full payment will be required by March 1. You may pay by check sent to our PO Box 106 or via PayPal. Winners of the Lottery, will receive payment options and procedures with their confirmation email.

The dining room is available for the guests to eat in and where our food is served during our Tuesday Socials!

This kitchen is for the use of our chaplains, house host/hostess and can reserved for larger meal preparation!
